Guided Turkey Hunting
Spring Gobbler Video
BenTurpin Custom Rod Building and Guide Service is offering guided Spring Turkey hunts in Wayne County, PA.
I have teamed up with Frank Couse Jr. and his family to secure roughly 1500 acres of prime habitat of farm and woodlands to hunt the trophy long beards of Northeastern, PA. After working with Frank and his family, I’ve seen their passion for hunting and teaching new and youth hunters. Every season Frank spends many mornings helping youth and mentoring hunters of all ages to bag their first bird. He also spends many hours helping accomplished hunters track the trophy birds of their dreams. No one knows the land surrounding the Upper Delaware region better than the Couse family. They work it, log it, trap it and hunt it 365 days a year. It’s this intimate familiarity with the land that really sets them apart. These hunts will provide the hunter with a one on one experience that will not only give the hunter the upper hand on the birds, but will also help those who want to learn more about the sport to be more successful.
Turkey Season generally runs from the very end of April to late May. It is the perfect time of year to hunt and fish Wayne County. The turkeys are in prime mating season and the vocal male gobblers are sounding off throughout the farms and woodlands looking for an available hen. If you have never hunted these challenging birds, I can only say this. You may wake up hours before light wondering what on earth you’re doing, but once that first gobbler sounds off, you will instantly be wide awake and your heart will start pounding. The sight of a strutting Gobbler and the moment of pulling the trigger will be etched in your memory forever. It is truly exciting!
Couple one of these hunts with an afternoon of dry fly fishing on the Upper Delaware and you will have the perfect Cast and Blast.
